The Greenest Festival in Detroit
Recycle Detroit, Waste One, and Great Lakes Recycling are working together with the North Cass Community Union to green the Cass Corridor during Dally in the Alley 2009. The collaboration’s goal is to divert 85% of the waste stream by collecting: Plastic #1-7, aluminum cans, paper, and cardboard. This “Green Trio” were responsible for making this year’s Movement: Detroit’s Electronic Music Festival 2008 a “green event.” Volunteers from Recycle Detroit were able to capture 3,000 pounds of recyclables from the festival’s waste stream. This will be Recycle Detroit’s fourth year participating with Dally in the Alley and its green initiatives. Recycle Detroit will take the initiative to make the Dally in the Alley 2009 the “cleanest festival in the city.” This project will require over 100+ volunteers and will need the cooperation of the community in order to be successful. Recycle Detroit’s goal is to divert at least 85% of the waste into recyclables. There will be recycling stations set up throughout the festival, at which Recycle Detroit will have two bins collecting recyclables and waste separately.

Call for VOLUNTEERS!
Every year we need all kinds of help on the day of the festival. The following committees may need volunteers: Set-up, Behind the Scenes, Kids' Fair, Vendors, and the Dally Gallery. Please send an email to volunteers.dallyinthealley@gmail.com if you are interested in helping or for further inquiries, and we will contact you when the time comes.
Vendors!
"Depression Busters" we're going to let groups of artists and makers of handcrafted items group together so they can share the vendor fee, making it cheaper and more affordable to local participants.
